Sunland Park residents urged to conserve water

Water users within the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority should immediately begin conserving water. A well within the City of Sunland Park has gone out of service, which could mean system-wide water outages as early as the evening of Monday, June 17.
The well could be repaired as early as tomorrow, however utility users are advised to immediately implement and maintain a strict conservation schedule until the well repairs have been confirmed and the system is once again fully pressurized.
The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority provides water service for the City of Sunland Park and most of the unincorporated areas in and around the Santa Teresa County Club and the Santa Teresa Port of Entry. The outages and conservation warnings apply to all users of the system.

Huerta transferred to NMSU

New Mexico State University President Garrey Carruthers today (June 4) that Andy Burke, Doņa Ana Community's financial vice president, will be DACC's interim president as Margie Huerta, retiring DACC president, takes on a new role in NMSU administration to improve articulation for the transfer of credits from the branch campuses to the main campus, a long-standing problem in the NMSU system. Community meetings set

District 1 Doņa Ana County Commissioner Billy G. Garrett has scheduled a series of community meetings to give his constituents updates on county programs and a presentation regarding the Special Election slated for July 30.
Each meeting will conclude with opportunities for residents to raise questions and concerns with Commissioner Garrett and county staff.
The meeting schedule is as follows, with each meeting beginning at 6 p.m.:

  • Monday, June 17, Mesilla Community Center, 2251 Calle de Santiago
  • Tuesday, June 18, Doņa Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd, in the Commission Chambers
  • Tuesday, June 25, Vado /Del Cerro Community Resource Center, 180 La Fey Ave., Vado
Invitations have been extended to all Doņa Ana County department heads and other elected officials, a number of whom are expected to attend.
