Bulletin Report

A new 12,000-square-foot Veterans Affairs medical center will be built by September and operational by December 2017, said Michael Amaral, retired colonel and director of the El Paso Veterans Affairs Health Care System.

The new Las Cruces facility will be located at 3401 del Rey Blvd. and construction broke ground on Feb. 10. The facility will be the second VA clinic in Las Cruces, the other located at 1635 S. Don Roser Drive. The new facility will have more staff, a larger pharmacy, more equipment and “tele-health” services, Amaral said.

“We will treat everyone with dignity, respect and compassion,” Amaral said.
