Brooklyn Brannan, the 6-year-old girl reported missing Wednesday, has been located with her mother and is said to be in good condition.
The girl and her mother were located late Wednesday afternoon in Albuquerque. Detectives are continuing their investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
The Las Cruces Police Department thanks those who shared information on this missing child case.
Las Cruces Police had learned that 6-year-old Brooklyn Brannan was reported missing Wednesday and they thought she was with her biological mother, Danielle Wilson, who is 25, and resides in Colorado Springs, Colo., and who does not have primary custody of the girl.
Investigators learned that Wilson drove to Las Cruces and asked her estranged husband, Brooklyn’s father and legal guardian, for permission to visit with their daughter. Wilson took Brooklyn, ostensibly to a movie and dinner, but later contacted the girl’s father and indicated that he would never see Brooklyn again.
Police also planned to speak with 54-year-old Adrienne A. Johnson, Danielle Wilson’s mother. Police believe Johnson may have had information.
