Aggies host UMass in season opener at home Saturday

Posted

The New Mexico State University Aggie football team last played a competitive game Dec. 26, 2022.

They won that game, in Detroit, to become the Quick Lane Bowl champions. That also meant the Aggies won six of their final seven games to finish 7-6 in Coach Jerry Kill’s first season.

The Quick Lane Bowl was broadcast on ESPN’s flagship station nationwide on the day after Christmas.

And now, eight months later to the day, NMSU is back on the ESPN flagship station, hosting UMass in a 5 p.m. game Saturday, Aug. 26, at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

Back-to-back games on ESPN, bowl winners, new members of Conference USA after several years as a football independent, a bunch of returning players including several on national preseason watch lists  – lots of new things with Aggie football.

To check on tickets, visit the Pan American Center Ticket Office in front of the Pan Am Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., or call 575-646-1420.
