Posted

Game II, 4131 Northrise Drive, will host a Warrior Blood Drive and Pediatric Cancer Awareness event is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, the Game and Game II owner Marci Dickerson said.

The community is invited to attend and donate blood during the event. Donors will receive a free appetizer coupon and a$10 Amazon gift card.

The event will include a craft table for kids and speakers sharing their warrior journeys between noon and 1 p.m.

More than 15,000 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States every year, event organizers said on a flyer. Many rely on blood transfusions to get through their battle.

Cancer is the No. 1 cause of death by disease for children in America, according to the American Childhood Cancer Organization. The average age of a child diagnosed with cancer is 8.
