Posted

Billed as a chance to “exit for a while from the digital highway,” COAS Books, 317 N. Main St. downtown, will host Las Cruces Typewriter Revival, 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 13.

“A variety of vintage typewriters will be available for anyone to sit and type a note, a poem or a letter to a friend,” said Las Cruces artist Bob Diven, who is one of the event organizers. “On-the-spot repairs of your old typewriter will be available, as well as freshly typed poems and revived vintage typewriters for sale.,” he said.

In addition to the “typewriter petting zoo,” “public acts of typing” and typewriter repairs and sales, the event includes discovering the joys of typaos and an opportunity to show a child how to type on a vintage typewriter.

The event will include a typewriter petting zoo – visitors can try out a variety of “revived machines,” public acts of typing, on-the-spot typewriter fixes (bring your old typewriter).
