Posted

Nearly 20 students from Doña Ana Community College took home awards during the New Mexico SkillsUSA competition held April 13-15 in Albuquerque.

Eight students won gold medals, five won silver and one took home bronze during the statewide competition that prepares students for careers in trade, technical and skilled-service occupations, DACC said in a news release.

The eight gold medalists qualified to participate in the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in June.

At the state competition, DACC students competed in customer service, extemporaneous speech, job demonstration and interview, architectural drafting, cyber security, internetworking, computer programming, related technical math and sheet metal fabrication.
