Joanne Elizabeth Brown joined Jesus in eternity early Saturday morning, March 2, 2024 after battling cancer for 5 years. She was a long-time guest at the Las Cruces Gospel Rescue Mission and beloved by guests and staff alike. The La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice staff and volunteers are appreciated for their kind and gentle care Joanne received. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Sierra Vista Community Church, 514 N. Telshor Blvd., Las Cruces, NM 88011 (behind T Mobile).
Joanne was born in Delta, Colorado on March 17, 1979 to Lee W. Brown and Lisa Marie (Manguso). During her childhood she moved to Albuquerque and Las Cruces, New Mexico, graduating from Las Cruces High School. Joanne lived in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico throughout her adult life.
Joanne is survived by her sister Sarah Cross, nephews Waylon (JJ) and Tristin Lee from Delta, Colorado; her grandmother Zilla May Brown in Olathe, Colorado; her son, Daniel Brown and step father Kevin Cranston from Las Cruces, New Mexico; Her mother, Lisa from El Paso, Texas, and Aunt Adell in Fruita, Colorado. She was proceeded in death by her father, Lee W. Brown.
