Linda Gendall joins Agave Gallery

Posted

Local artist Linda Gendall is the newest member of Agave Artist Gallery, 2250 Calle de San Albino on the historic plaza in Mesilla.

“Linda Gendall's childhood memories from rural Montana of plants, animals, light, texture and colors are an integral part of her,” the gallery said in a news release. “After moving to the Mesilla Valley in 2002, she discovered the unique culture of the border area and observed the rich hues of the Southwest. Years after, her passion for oil painting on canvas blossomed, she turned to COR-TEN steel (corrosion resistance/tensile strength, i.e., “weathered” steel) where her fascination with the play of light, color and shadows continued,” the gallery said.

"Many of us go to our graves with our music still inside us," is a favorite of Gendall’s, by Oliver Wendell Homes, the gallery said. Her response is, "I celebrate my music every day."

“Linda's life in the border region is a continual inspiration for her work,” Agave Gallery said.

Agave Gallery is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Monday.
