New community pool to open May 27

The City of Las Cruces new 50-meter community pool will open Saturday, May 27, the city said in a news release.

The hours of operation for the Las Cruces Natatorium,1405 E. Hadley Ave. May 27-Monday, Sept. 4, will be as follows:

  • Lap swimming will be offered 6-11 a.m., 4-8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday. The cost will be $2, with no reservation required. Lanes will be based on two to four swimmers per lane.
  • Fitness swim will be offered 6-11 a.m. Monday to Friday. The cost will be $2, with no reservation required.
  • Open swim sessions will be offered 4-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday. The cost will be $4 for ages 18 and older and $3 for 2-17-year-old.

The pool will be closed Sunday.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration for the pool is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15.
