NMSU Foundation receives charitable gift

The New Mexico State University Foundation received a $1 million charitable gift from New Mexico Mutual (NMM) to support the NMSU College of Engineering, College of Business and Arrowhead Center. Attending the March 28 check presentation were, left to right, NMSU College of Business Dean Bryan Ashenbaum, NMSU Foundation Vice President of Development Keith Emrick, NMSU Associate Vice Chancellor Ken Van Winkle, NMM CEO and President Kellie Mixon, NMM Director of Marketing Claudia Sanchez, NMSU College of Engineering Assistant Dean of Experiential Learning and Student Success Gabe Garcia and NMSU Arrowhead Center Director and CEO Kathy Hansen. NMM is the largest underwriter of workers’ compensation insurance in the state, NMSU said. During the past two decades, NMM has supported NMSU through a series of internships, scholarships and career day activities.
