Jamie Langan is a native of New Jersey who went to school in New York and has opened a new interior design business in Las Cruces. After earning an associate degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, Langan knew she was tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city. Her parents retired to Las Cruces in 2017, so she also moved to start her own business. Last November, she opened Studio Langan, Ltd. The Electric Sun Tattoo Studio is joining the Mandrake Fine Art & Botanica Gallery to officially introduce the two businesses in a grand opening event Saturday, Feb. 8, 3 to 8 p.m. at 501 ½ E. Hadley Ave. in Las Cruces. Tattoo artist Katie Mena’s work has a self-styled vintage look, with a focus on fine-line work, much of which is plant-based. Her custom and flash designs are often floral in nature as she creates detailed drawings which she then carefully works with her clients to wrap and textualize on their skin, bringing each work to life. more
Director of Operations Mike Watters was in Las Cruces Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, to announce that his company, Big Tuna USA, has signed a lease on a vacant 15,000-square-foot property on 7.5 acres at 1846 W. Amador Ave. and will open a manufacturing center there, creating 30 new jobs in Las Cruces during the next three years. more
