Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) Crew Chiefs Jason Johnson and Roberto Ortiz have driven more than 600 miles of Las Cruces streets since December, using nearly three-quarters of a million dollars in laser-guided technology to assess the condition of the streets and then help city officials determine paving priorities. more
Aaron Villarreal opened Hygia Pain Institute in Las Cruces last April to provide non-surgical pain management that includes science, technology and even meditation. Villarreal is a nurse anesthetist and a graduate of the Advanced Pain Management Fellowship at Texas Christian University. That makes him one of only about 50 practitioners in the nation with that background, he said. He also belongs to the nonprofit U.S. Pain Foundation, which was created by people with chronic pain issues. more
Sunland Park City Manager Julia Brown will be featured on a 2020 Rose Parade float Jan. 1 in Pasadena, California. The parade is televised nationally. Brown is the national board chair of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), which “has worked to eliminate barriers for women and girls for more than 138 years,” she said. Brown is also president of the Doña Ana County Federation of Democratic Women and is a former Doña Ana County manager. more
