AAUW installs new officers

The Las Cruces chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has installed new officers for 2022-23, AAUW said in a news release.

New officers are president Anne Chase; treasurer Christine Long; secretary Rita Worrell; co-vice presidents for programs RoseAnn Hernandez and Barbara Williams and co-vice presidents for membership Lynne Lord and Lori LaPlanche. Marsha Hokkanen is immediate past president.

AAUW is a nonprofit organization with a mission to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy. Established in October 1923, the Las Cruces branch is the largest in the state, with nearly 90 members. AAUW Las Cruces will celebrate its 100th anniversary throughout 2023, with speakers and special events.
