Acton Academy Children’s Business Fair is May 21

Acton Academy Mesilla Valley’s sixth annual Children’s Business Fair is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, inside Mesilla Valley Mall, 700 S. Telshor Blvd.

The event, which is sponsored by Acton Academy, the Acton Academy School of Business and donors and volunteers, will host up to 80 booths, giving young entrepreneurs the opportunity to “develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers” at the business fair marketplace, according to the business fair website.

There is a $10 fee per business to register for the fair, which is open to children ages 8-18. Register at www.childrensbusinessfair.org/lascruces.

Business fair participants will be judged in these categories: “Most Business Potential,” “Most

Creative Idea” and “Most Impressive Presentation.” Awards will be presented in four age groups: 8-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18.

Attendance at the event is free and open to the public.

Billed as “the largest entrepreneurship event for kids in North America, the first Acton Children’s Business Fair was held in Austin, Texas in 2007. There are more than 250 Acton Academies across the country and around the world, according to www.actonacademy.org/find.

There are 1,086 children’s business fairs scheduled in 2022, including more than 51,500 young entrepreneurs, in 345 cities and 16 countries, according to www.childrensbusinessfair.org.
