Agave Gallery welcomes artist Storm Sermay

Posted

Agave Artist Cooperative Gallery, 2250 Calle de San Albino on the historic Mesilla Plaza, welcomes long-time Las Cruces artist Storm Sermay as its artist of the month for March 2023.

Born in New York and raised in Florida, Sermay has lived most of her adult life in New Mexico, the gallery said. Her photography “took off” after 2008, after she took classes and workshops in the United States and internationally.

Sermay works in black and white and color. Her photo combinations “create an emotional sense of place that does not exist in real life – nature composites,” Agave Gallery said. “Her flower photographs are one-of-a-kind, hand-colored with pencil and pastels.”

Sermay’s art includes street photography, landscapes and seascapes.

Sermay is active in The Border Artists and Doña Ana Photography Club. Her work has appeared in various exhibits and shows, including at the El Paso International Airport.

Agave Gallery is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Monday.
