Day baseball is alive and well in Las Cruces, with a 3 p.m. game today (Tuesday, May 16) at Presley Askew Field on the New Mexico State University campus.

After concluding its conference schedule, NM State will have a quartet of home games to close out the regular season, starting with the Tuesday matchup against in-state rival UNM. The Aggies are 1-2 on the season against the Lobos, most recently falling 14-6 in a shortened eight-inning affair in the Duke City.
Action against New Mexico begins Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Presley Askew.

The Aggies will close out the season with a three-game series against St. Thomas May 18-20. The series breaks form by opening Thursday. Games Thursday and Friday start at 6 p.m., and the Saturday game begins at 11 a.m. NM State is 12-35 on the year, and finished 9-21 in Western Athletic Conference play.

In Tuesday’s game, the Aggies will try to regain their form of this March 21, when they traveled to Albuquerque and shut out the Lobos 2-0.

Offensively, NM State is led by Keith Jones II in batting average, with .362; Christian Perez leads the team with 10 homers; and Kevin Jimenez tops the Ags with 37 RBI.
