Allan, Shaw join new MountainView clinic

MountainView Medical Group (MVMG) has formed of the MountainView Medical Group Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery clinic, medically staffed by Daniel Allan.

Allan has a 45-year career as an independent cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery specialist. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been practicing plastic surgery in Las Cruces since 1981.

Allan is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin and attended general surgery residency at St Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee. He completed his fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.

Allan’s practice focusses on cleft-palate and cleft-lip reconstruction, breast reconstruction, rhinoplasty, hand surgery, cosmetic and plastic surgery.

Also practicing at the clinic will be Patricia Shaw, a dermatology-certified nurse practitioner and board-certified family nurse practitioner. She is a member of Dermatology Nurses’ Association, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.

Prior to joining MVMG, Shaw was affiliated with Rio Grande Medical Group. She was also previously employed at the Northern Colorado Allergy and Asthma Clinics, where she diagnosed and treated eczema, hives and seasonal drug and food allergies. Shaw also performed biopsies and diagnosed and treated skin cancers, rashes, acne and dermatologic skin diseases.

Shaw earned a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She conducted her dermatology internship at the Northern Colorado Allergy & Asthma Clinics.

Shaw’s outpatient services will focus on full-body skin exams, skin cancer/biopsies, acne, rosacea, eczema, rashes and nail abnormalities.

In joining the MVMG as an employed physician, Allan is now able to leverage the assets of the community’s largest integrated medical care delivery team, MVMG said in a news release. MVMG now consists of more than 100 providers offering a full scope of services, from urgent to primary to specialty care.
