Alma d’Arte Charter High School honored and feted Irene Oliver-Lewis, the founder of the school, on Friday, May 8th, 2025, during its gala event by naming its building the Irene Oliver-Lewis Centerl for the Arts. Oliver-Lewis was a driving force behind the rehabilitation of the Court Junior High School building to turn it into a youth center in the 1990s. She then founded Alma d’Arte Charter High School, 402 W. Court Avenue, as a place for creative students to thrive in 2004.
