Animal shelter asking public’s help

Posted

The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley, located at 3551 Bataan Memorial, is asking for the public’s help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to recent positive COVID-19 tests at the Animal Services Center, the director, Clint Thacker, stated that his facility is understaffed until November 18.  Because of the understaffing, Mr. Thacker is asking the public to not trap feral cats and would like to limit the number of animals coming into the shelter at this time.  However, Animal Control will still respond to and impound animals that pose a threat to public safety, are sick, injured or aggressive.
