Posted

Pop in for this year’s Holiday Pop-Up Art Show, Dec. 12-15 in the Bank of the West building, 201 N. Church St. in downtown Las Cruces.

The show is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12; 4-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14; and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. The Orlando Madrid Jazz Trio will perform 6:30-8 p.m. Dec 13.

There is no charge to attend.

“Pop-ups have become really important in the art community because they provide a short-term space solution for artists,” event coordinator Karen Conley said. “The work that will be shown is quite diverse/eclectic. This includes painting, pastel work, photography, sculpture, bookmaking, performance art, ceramics and jewelry. We have artists from many different groups in Las Cruces. Some of the notable names are Russell Mott, Rachel Stevens, Chris Bardey, Michael Ponce, Linda Elkins, Paul Maxwell, Dennis Lujan and Noel Sandino.”

More than 60 local artists will be featured in the show.

“The great thing about this show is that we are bringing together emerging artists and working artists who have a lot of experience they can share with the other artists,” Conley said. “Bob Pofahl and Steve Newby are providing the space in the Bank of the West building. They continue to support the art community in a big way by allowing us to use this space. It is a wonderful venue to show art.”

In addition to live music and food and beverages on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 12-13, the event includes an artists’ panel on Dec. 14.
