Automatic recount scheduled for NM State Representative 53 race in Doña Ana County

Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office will conduct an automatic recount for the NM State Representative District 53 race based on the outcome of that race in the 2020 general election.

Pursuant to 1-14-24 NMSA 1978, an automatic recount will occur if the outcome of an election is less than one percent of the total votes cast.

The recount will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections Warehouse located at 2480 Lakeside Drive.
