Pet lovers gather for a paw-some time at the City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department “Bark in the Park” in celebration of “Responsible Dog Ownership Day!”

This pet friendly event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at Mesilla Park, 304 W. Bell Ave. Local vendors will share information, education, interactive games, and demonstrations.

The Parks and Recreation Department will raffle dog-related prizes throughout the day.  A photo booth will be offered to capture a special moment with you and your family’s best friend.

Cost is free for both pets and humans! All pets are welcomed and must be leashed, handlers must be at least 10 years old. Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Dog waste bags are available throughout the park.

For information, call Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center at 575/541-2454.
