Branigan Memorial Library offers free computer literacy classes in April

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., will offer a variety of free computer literacy classes in April that will be designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today's digital world.

Each session is an independent class.  Registration is optional, with walk-ins welcome. However, space is limited.

Registration for any of the classes can be found on Branigan Memorial Library’s event calendar at: https://las-cruces.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/.  Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits.

Basic Computer Skills – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Are you uncomfortable using a computer? Do you want to understand how to use it without the fear of doing something to break it?This class will discuss what computers are and some ways to properly use them in your daily lives.

Internet and the Cloud – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2022. Do you know what the Internet is? What about the Cloud? This class will explain these terms and how to safely navigate the Internet.

iPad Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Did you receive a new iPad for Christmas and want to learn how to use it? In this class we will discuss how to navigate on the iPad and how to use some of the apps. Students will learn how to create bookmarks in Safari and how to use the iPad as an e-reader. iPads will not be provided so students should bring their own iPads ready to use.

Windows 11 Basics – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022. This class will teach students how to navigate the most recent operating system. Topics that will be covered is the new Start Menu layout, what the taskbar is and how to customize Windows 11.
