BURRELL COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE

Burrell College seeks PPE donations

Posted

Medical students from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) are taking the lead in “Protect N.M.,” in Las Cruces to expand the distribution of personal protective equipment to healthcare workers fighting COVID-19 in southern New Mexico.

BCOM students are partnering with students at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, who started PNM, according to www.protectnm.com/las-cruces.

PNM is requesting donations of PPEs and cash donations so more PPEs can be provided “to areas in need” throughout the state.

“We hope to combat COVID by obtaining donations of any form – face masks (N-95, ear loop, surgical, homemade), gloves (nitrile, sterile, surgical), hand sanitizer, eye protection (face shields, goggles), gowns, disinfectant wipes or monetary donations,” said BCOM Protect N.M. Media Coordinator Shannon Chan. The organization also welcomes donations of thermometers and infection-control kits, the website said.

To make donations, contact Chan at 626-623-2239 and shannon.chan@mybcom.org.

Visit www.protectnm.com and find them on Facebook and Instagram @ProtectNM.
