Camp Hope Build Day

Posted

Dozens of volunteers were on hand Saturday, Nov. 2, for the Build Day at Mesilla Valley Community of Hope’s (MVCH) Camp Hope Tent City. Led by the Home Depot of Las Cruces and ADP of El Paso, 59 volunteers constructed five wooden structures to surround tents on three sides plus a roof. Volunteers also included LDS missionaries, Camp Hope residents, MVCH board members and New Mexico State University students.

At least 15 additional wooden structures need to be built to surround all the tents/tent pads at Camp Hope. MVCH, 999 W. Amador Ave., provided services to 2,606 people last fiscal year and provided housing to 547, including 187 in Tent City.
