Celebrating benefits of walking to school

Posted

Las Cruces Public Schools’ 2021 International Walk to School Day events kicked off Oct. 1 with hundreds of students, staff, volunteers and community members making the early-morning walk from Valley Verde Park behind Save Mart to MacArthur Elementary School, which is this year’s LCPS Walk to School Day highlight school. All 24 LCPS elementary schools are participating in Walk to School Day events, which continued in Las Cruces through Oct. 21. LCPS has by far the most successful Walk to School program in the state, with more than 2,000 students expected to participate this year. Visit www.walkbiketoschool.org.
