Posted

Earning a Republican National Committee Chairman’s Champions Medal, long-time volunteer in Doña Ana County Elizabeth Ortega talks about the work she does for the party. Ortega was introduced during a Sept. 7 event opening the new RNC Hispanic Community Center in Las Cruces at 201 S. Solano Drive. From left behind Ortega are U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell; former Doña Ana County GOP staffer Santiago Soto; and Republican Party New Mexico chairman and former Congressman Steve Pearce. Local party chairman Kim Skaggs introduced Ortega saying, “She’s persistent, calm, steady and kind.” The center will be available for meetings, events and activities, Herrell said.
