At a special meeting on Monday afternoon, June 1, the city council voted 7-0 not to extend an emergency proclamation issued May 29 by Mayor Ken Miyagishima. The proclamation set additional restrictions on the openings of some businesses in Las Cruces on the ones imposed by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in the updated public health order she issued last week. This means Las Cruces will follow the state-recommended guidelines.
