The Museum of Nature & Science will have “Take out Family STEM Night” material kits available for pick up Wednesdays, July 15 and 29.

“Take out Family STEM Night” kits are free but require reservations. To reserve a kit, contact Stephanie at shawkins@las-cruces.org or 575-522-3120 by 4 p.m. the day before pickup. Kits are available while supplies last. Pursuant to state health guidelines, social distancing measures will be in place and mask-wearing is highly encouraged during the pickup.

“Take Our Family STEM Night” began July 8 with Animal Anatomy Exploration, which included a guide for a virtual frog dissection. It continues with these kits:

  • July 15 MARS2020: Build a Mars Rover: Design, build and test a cardboard Mars rover in celebration of NASA’s Mars2020 mission launch of the Perseverance rover
  • July 29: Zombie Survival School: Explore Newton’s laws of motions while fending off a horde of miniature zombies by building a tiny catapult and bow and arrow.

The Museum of Nature & Science, 411 N. Main St., is accessible via RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1 Stop 2.
