City water restrictions for spring/summer have resumed

Posted

Citywide spring/summer water restrictions, which began April 1, prohibit the watering of outside vegetation 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.

A watering schedule allows residents with even-numbered addresses to water outside vegetation before 10 a.m. and/or after 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Residents with odd-numbered addresses are permitted to water Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. No watering is permitted on Mondays.

The Las Cruces Utilities Water Conservation Program has a recorded 24-hour voicemail hotline at 575-528-4444 to report water waste, including watering on the wrong day or time, water leaving the property or ponding on the property and/or not using a bucket and shut-off nozzle to wash vehicles or pavement.

If you call the hotline to report a watering violation, the city asks that you provide the day, time and location or address of the alleged violation.

To request a variance or for help reducing water usage, contact city Water Conservation Program Coordinator Rhonda Diaz at 575-528-3549 or rhdiaz@las-cruces.org.
