Cultural Center’s June online activities include chile farming, Saudi Arabia, stars summer camp

Branigan Cultural Center (BCC) is still closed to the public for scheduled maintenance, but it has a full slate of online offerings in June.

  • “History Notes: History of Chile Farming”: 1-2 p.m. Thursday, June 10. Learn about chile farming with New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service vegetable specialist Stephanie Walker, Ph.D. Tune into the Zoom webinar at link https://rebrand.ly/ChilePepper.
  • “What’s the Word: Arabic – A Trip to Saudi Arabia”: 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10. Learn language through culture. Dive into the history and traditions of Saudi Arabia while learning and practicing Arabic language skills. Register by contacting Kayla Myers at 575-522-3120 or kmyers@las-cruces.org.
  • “Stories of the Stars Summer Camp”: June 28-July 2. For grades 9-12 – Explore the ways diverse cultures understand and interact with the stars. Participants will receive a kit with the materials to do hands-on activities and will participate in Zoom workshops. Register by Saturday, June 19, by contacting Kayla Myers at 575-522-3120 or kmyers@las-cruces.org.

BCC, 501 N. Main St., is closed for construction through June 2021.
