Domonique Rodriguez has been named the Deputy Director of Business Services for Las Cruces Utilities (LCU).

Rodriguez’s duties will be focused on managing the programs within Business Services and providing support as needed. She will ensure LCU continues to provide excellent customer service to the utility’s ratepayers and to customers within the Utilities Department and the City.

“We have a duty to ensure we are aware of how our expenditures translate to our rates,” Rodriguez said. “The Business Services Line of Business is a diverse team, and everyone wants to do a good job. I am very lucky, and grateful for the opportunity, to be part of a team that is professional, courteous, and is empowered to make decisions.”

Rodriguez has 12 years of experience and service with LCU. She started her career in 2010 as a contract Accounting Technician while she also earned her master's degree in accounting.

In 2012, Rodriguez became an accountant with LCU. During her time as an accountant, she managed the Capital Improvement Plan for the Utilities Department and learned about engineering, construction projects and how they interact with each other from start to finish. Rodriguez wrote contracts and bids and helped as a Budget Analyst.

Rodriguez was promoted to a Rates Analyst Senior in 2013 while still assisting with the accounting duties tied to her previous position. She gained experience about project management and the rate setting process during that time.

In 2017, Rodriguez was promoted to Rates and Economic Analysis Manager. Her LCU team has grown, and provides financial support to the Utilities Department, ensuring LCU is financially solid and has the best information available to make sound decisions.
