Early voting began Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Doña Ana County and statewide.

In-person, early voting locations
1) Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd., began Oct. 6, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 31. Voting hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday through Friday, Oct. 30. The government center will also be open on 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. The office will be closed Monday, Oct. 12 in observance of Indigenous People’s Day.
Early voting at alternate early-voting locations will begin Saturday, Oct. 17 and continue through Saturday, Oct. 31. Voting hours will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
2) In-person, early-voting locations are
“Early voting and absentee voting options are essential opportunities for voter participation during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said Doña Ana County Clerk Amanda López Askin. “Our top priority is working to ensure every eligible voter is able to safely and securely cast a ballot in the general election.”
Absentee ballots may be returned by voters, voters’ immediate family members or voters’ caregivers at the clerk’s office on the first floor of the county building or any early-voting site.
Voters may request an absentee ballot application from the clerk’s office by emailing email@example.com or by printing an application and mailing it to Doña Ana County Clerk, 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, N.M. 88007. To find a printable absentee ballot application, visit www.donaanacounty.org/elections/elections-info and click on “print an application.”
If a qualified elector chooses to register to vote immediately prior to voting, there are some identification requirements. The voter must provide 1) a New Mexico driver's license or New Mexico identification card issued through the state Motor Vehicle Division of the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department; 2) any document that contains an address in Doña Ana County, together with a photo identification card; or 3) a current, valid student photo identification card from a post-secondary educational institution in New Mexico, accompanied by a current student fee statement that contains the student's address in the county.
