Electronic Caregiver (ECG), a national digital health technology company based in Las Cruces, is seeking 100 local residents to participate in the product testing of Addison, the Virtual Caregiver, ECG said in a news release.
Addison is “a state-of-the-art, 3D-animated, connected caregiver designed to transform a residence into a digital Smart Health Home, providing preventative health and chronic care management for patients of all ages,” ECG said. “Features included in this initial phase of testing are voice-driven interactions, medication reminders and vitals monitoring.
“The Addison Care system has Bluetooth-enabled health monitoring devices that connect to the console. Participants’ choice of devices include: a pulse oximeter, weight scale, blood-pressure monitor and thermometer.”
ECG product test users will receive an Addison Care system (the size of a computer monitor with a 24-inch display) to set up in their homes for a period of three to six months. During this time, the company will email surveys every two weeks to gain feedback and conduct interviews. Participants will be asked to share their experience with the features, design and usability of the product.
Product testers must meet the following criteria to participate: 55 years old or older, no cognitive impairment, English-speaking (with the possibility of Spanish speaking testers in the future), have an active email account, be willing to complete interviews on product features and satisfaction, be willing to complete brief product information surveys and must have wi-fi set-up in home and a powered standard electrical outlet to plug in the device.
There is no charge to participate as a product tester, ECG said. Once Addison, the Virtual Caregiver is launched for commercial availability, participants will have the option to purchase an Addison Care System at a discounted price.
