The City of Las Cruces has named Elizabeth Teeters as director of its Economic Development Department (EDD).

Teeters joined the city in 2018 shortly after moving to Las Cruces from Missouri, first as policy analyst for administration. She has been the business development administrator in EDD since February 2020.

"Elizabeth has been a valuable team member here at the City of Las Cruces, and based on her experience in economic development and her previous roles at the city, she will thrive as economic development director," City Manager Ifo Pili said. "We look forward to what she will bring to the city and supporting her and the department in their efforts to bring prosperity to our community."

Teeters' career background includes working for a regional planning commission in Missouri, first as a county economic developer, then as executive director. She has a bachelor's in music education from Ohio University and a master's in community planning from the University of Cincinnati.
