High school players and fans from all four Las Cruces football teams held a carwash fundraiser Sept. 4 to raise money for medical expenses for Organ Mountain High School player Abe Romero, who was injured in a game Aug. 26.
In Grant County, during the Sept. game between Cliff High School and Silver High School, players gathered to honor Romero, and fans took a special collection
At presstime, Romero remained in a medically induced coma at a hospital in El Paso.
