A vacant home caught fire in the 1300 block of N. Alameda Boulevard early Friday morning.
The Las Cruces Fire Department responded to the reported structure fire around 2 a.m. Friday. The blaze had consumed much of the structure by the time of arrival. In the midst of strong winds, crews applied water and prevented damage to nearby homes. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 4 a.m. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters, according to the fire department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Investigators have not yet provided damage estimates.
