A vacant building on the 1700 block of W. Hadley Avenue reportedly caught fire on Saturday, April 5.
The Las Cruces Fire Department was dispatched to the structure fire just before 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Firefighters reportedly encountered heavy fire coming from the building when they arrived. Bystanders reported seeing a person inside the building earlier, but firefighters conducted a search of the building and found no one located within the structure, according to the Fire Department. Firefighters said they brought the fire under control within 25 minutes. No injuries were reported.
The cause is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
