The opening hours of 2025 welcomed several newborns in Las Cruces, as reported by MountainView Regional Medical Center and Memorial Medical Center.
The first of six babies born at MountainView on New Year’s Day arrived at 1:23 a.m., but the family did not publicize their information. Later that day, parents Layla and Lorenzo (who kept their surnames private) welcomed a boy named Grayson at 9:57 p.m., the sixth delivery of the new year at MountainView.
Meanwhile, Memorial Medical Center’s BirthPlace facility celebrated the arrival of baby Maydelin, born to parents Gema and Isaac, at 1:26 p.m. New Year’s Day. The hospital reported the child weighed 5 pounds and 15 ounces, and measured 17.5 inches in length.
"Helping families welcome their little ones is why we do what we do," Brianne Pfau, RN and director of labor and delivery/NICU at the hospital said in a news release. "It’s always extra special when it’s the first baby of the year. Here's to a year full of love, joy, snuggles and new beginnings. Congratulations from all of us at MMC!”
