The Food Truck Fiesta continues on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at various locations in Las Cruces and Mesilla.

The gathering of food trucks at a single location began in the fall of 2015 and has “very quickly gained popularity,” said Janet Beatty-Payne, who owns the Green Chile Paddy Wagon along with her husband, Patrick Payne.

The first Wednesday of the month is always in the parking lot of Allen Theater’s Telshor 12, 700 S. Telshor Blvd., Beatty- Payne said. “On those evenings, Allen Theaters offers buy-one-get-onefree movie passes to anyone who eats at the food trucks that evening,” she said. “You are even allowed to take the food from the food trucks into the theater that night so you can enjoy your dinner and a movie all together.”

The third Wednesday of the month, the Food Truck Fiestas are held in a different location around town, Beatty- Payne said. On Wednesday June 15, the Food Truck Fiesta will be held on the Mesilla Plaza from 6 to 9 p.m.

On July 6 and Aug. 3, the first Wednesdays of the month, the fiesta is back at Telshor 12.

On the third Wednesday in July, the trucks will be at Young Park, 850 Walnut Ave.

On the third Wednesday in August, the fiesta will be held in the parking lot of the University Church of Christ, 1555 E. University Ave., from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 17 is the first day of the fall semester for students at New Mexico State University.

For the summer months, all Food Truck Fiestas will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Beatty-Payne said. During the colder months, the hours will change to 5 to 8 p.m., she said.

“At every fiesta, there are tables and chairs available for people to sit and enjoy their food,” Beatty- Payne said, and there is also usually live music. The fiestas “have grown from only about four trucks participating to the 12 trucks we have now,” she said.
