CITY OF LAS CRUCES PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Fourth of July Celebrates our Heroes

Posted

There are a few days are left to enter the “Celebrating our Heroes” Virtual Electric Light Parade. Hosted by the City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department, the Fourth of July virtual event is a tribute to all those who have kept the community going through this pandemic. Las Crucens can show their appreciation by submitting photo entries aligned with the theme and be entered to win in one of several categories. Deadline to submit entries is 11:59 p.m., Monday June 29. Find more details at www.las-cruces.org/FourthofJuly.

Create a “Celebrating our Heroes” entry by decorating a yard or vehicle, dressing in patriotic style, showing a pet’s patriotic spirit, or designing a patriotic face covering. Take a photo of the tribute and submit it by email to enter the virtual parade competition. This is not a photo contest; entries will be judged on representation of theme, creativity, and quality of workmanship. Lights are optional and are not a part of the judging criteria.

All entries will be showcased in a virtual parade event on CLCTV and social media. Prizes will be awarded to First, Second and Third place winners in each category, and first place winners will also receive lawn signs to display. All winners will be announced on the Fourth of July during the virtual parade. Deadline to submit entries is 11:59 p.m., Monday June 29.
