Fourtwenty Collections Dispensary grand opening

Posted

A grand opening for Fourtwenty Collections Dispensary will be held noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at 2215 S. Main St., suite A.

A ribbon cutting will be held at noon. DJ Tommy Black will be the event emcee, with a live performance by Kurupt, 2-3 p.m.

Fourtwenty Collections is an Arizona-based cannabis company consisting of CBD skincare, THC and CBD-infused edibles and a fashion line for men and women, the company said in a news release. It recently secured a manufacturing, cultivation and retail license in the New Mexico.

Founded by Marvina Thomas, Fourtwenty Collections is a, black female- and minority-owned cannabis company, making it one of less than 20 percent of all women-owned cannabis businesses in the United States and one of less than two percent owned by black entrepreneurs, the news release said.

The dispensary will be the first in Las Cruces owned and managed by a team of BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) women in Las Cruces, the company said.

Fourtwenty Collections’ president is Parisa Rad, who was named one of the most influential women in the industry by Women & Weed Magazine. Rad is a New Mexico native and New Mexico State University graduate.  Rad and Thomas lead a team of 15 employees, all of whom are minority and/or women.

“Our goal is to provide opportunities to people in underrepresented communities,” Rad said. “Whether that is employing them at Fourtwenty Collections, or providing a safe haven for them at Start Living, our purpose and mission is much larger than just producing cannabis.”

The new Fourtwenty Collections boutique is in a new 6,000-square-foot multi-use facility in Las Cruces. It will be open 9 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days a week.

The company began in 2016 after Thomas launched Fourtwenty Skincare with handmade CBD-infused soap.
