Friday Night Lights “21-Minutes”

Supporting Centennial, Las Cruces High, Mayfield, and Onate

Posted

Athletes, Parents, and Sports fans of Las Cruces, on Friday, September 4, 2020 the Field of Dreams Soccer and Football complex will turn on the game field lights for 21-minutes starting at 7:30 p.m. in support of the LCPS 2020-21 seniors and for all fall sport athletes that have had their seasons altered.

“Covid 19 has created some tough challenges for all of us,” said LCPS Athletic Director Ernie Viramontes. “We must stick together as community, stay positive, and we will move forward.”

The district encourages all businesses and families to showcase their favorite local school colors on Fridays to represent “Friday Game Days.” This is one way the community of Las Cruces can display support for LCPS students as they attend school online.

In addition, Las Cruces Public Schools all would like to thank our awesome community for all of the past and future support that everyone gives our sports programs and schools.  It truly reflects on the GREAT city of Las Cruces and Dona Ana County that we live in.

“Let's make Fridays in the Las Cruces community, spirit days for all of our student athletes,” said LCPS Superintendent Dr. Trujillo. “The lights won't stay dark forever.”
