Gospel Rescue Mission needs blankets

Posted

The Las Cruces Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM) Clothing Room serves the community seven days a week and has an urgent need for blankets, GRM said in a news release.

You can take new and gently used blankets to GRM, 1760 W. Hadley Ave., the GRM Clothing Room, during regular business hours, 10-11:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, the news release said.

GRM prepares and serves three meals a day “for the poor and homeless in our community,” including “both general public at street entrance and sheltered homeless,” GRM said. GRM also provides shelter and support for the vulnerable people voluntarily quarantined at its campus at 1050 W. Amador Ave. and maintains a small staff of “minimum-wage workers (cooks, driver, shelter supervisors, facilities maintenance).”

“Historically we have not received (or sought) tax dollars to run our operations, so we are especially thankful for the individuals who support this ministry,” GRM said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with our donors, and of course with those we serve every day.”
