Greater Las Cruces Chamber award nominations due by May 31

Nominations are due by 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, for the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 business and community awards, which will be presented at the chamber’s awards dinner at 7 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Las Cruces International Airport.

The awards to be presented are

  • Citizen of the Year, which is presented to an individual in the community who exemplifies “going

the extra mile” through personal, profession and business contributions.

  • Nonprofit of the Year, presented to a local nonprofit that has shown exemplary support to the

Las Cruces and Doña Ana County area through contributions and support of the community while adhering to the nonprofit’s mission statement.

  • Emerging Business of the Year, presented to a company that has been in business for one to three

years. Nominees have demonstrated exceptional growth through creation of jobs, revenue growth, innovative products or services.

  • Small Business of the Year (one to 25 employees category), presented to an active business located or operating in the Las Cruces/Doña Ana County area that has been in business for at least five years. Nominees have demonstrated exceptional growth through creation of jobs, revenue growth, innovative products or services.
  • Large Business of the Year (26-plus employees category), presented to an active business located or operating in the Las Cruces and Doña Ana County area that has been in business for at least five years and has demonstrated exceptional growth through creation of jobs, revenue growth, innovative products or services.

“These annual awards gives the chamber to recognize outstanding members, along with recognizing the community citizen of the year,” said chamber President and CEO Debbi Moore. “This will be the first time since 2019 we’ve had opportunity to meet in person for our awards. Additionally, we will be recognizing our public safety and Crystal Apple (education) recipients later in the year.”
