DOÑA ANA ARTS COUNCIL’S RENAISSANCE ARTS FAIRE

High tech for the RenFaire: Arts Council launches new website

Posted

The Doña Ana Arts Council’s (DAAC) Renaissance Arts Faire may celebrate the art and wonders of a time long past, but its technology is state of the state.

Just in time for the virtual RenFaire, DAAC has launched a new website that is faster and can handle both online sales of artwork and merchandise and more visitors, DAAC said in a news release.

“The work that former DAAC executive director and communications director Kathleen Albers has done, with help from Wilson-Binkley, has resulted in an exciting online presence we hope you will take a look at,” said DAAC Executive Director Greg Smith.

“The address is still the same, www.daarts.org, and many of the features will be familiar. However, how one moves from one page to another and the speed with which we move should all feel new,” he said. “Watch for new additions in coming months, but when you visit now, please pay particular attention to information about the RenFaire and class offerings available, and also check out the galleries for ‘Metaphor for a Virus’ and our October gallery show with Richard Harris.”

The Renaissance ArtsFaire online marketplace opened Oct. 15 and continues through Oct. 31, with links to RenFaire vendors’ e-commerce sites and tee shirts and buttons featuring this year’s 49th annual RenFaire design titled “NO FAIRE.” The virtual RenFaire major online auction is Nov. 1-7.

Funds raised at RenFaire support DAAC’s arts education for children programing and opportunities for local artists. DAAC’s offices, gallery and Arts & Cultural Center are located at 250 W. Amador Ave. in downtown Las Cruces.
