Honoring the fallen

Posted

As it has done in years past, the Las Cruces Fire Department and the LCFD Honor Guard will conduct a vigil and bell ringing ceremony “to mark the events of that day,” Las Cruces Fire Chief Jason Smith said. The event will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Las Cruces Fire Station No. 1, 201 E. Picacho Ave., across the street from Thomas Branigan Memorial Library. The photo was taken during the 2020 ceremony. The bell is rung to commemorate those who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
