Bulletin report
Dharmahorse is having a “Hay for Horses” Fundraiser to benefit the elderly and special needs horses living their lives in sanctuary, the New Mexico-licensed horse sanctuary said in a news release.
The fundraiser is 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Woody’s Gift Gallery, 309 E. Organ Ave. in Las Cruces.
It will include live music, food, a silent auction (featuring jewelry, stained glass, pottery, saddles and other items donated by local artists and businesses) and a visit from the miniature horse “Handsome Andy.”
Also, during the day of “all things equine,” Dharmahorse founder and President Katharine Chrisley-Schreiber will give a talk on horse care and what makes this sanctuary unique.
There is no charge to attend.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will provide winter food for horses at the sanctuary, Dharmahorse said.
“With hay costs rising and the need for quality feed stored ahead of bad weather, the need is real,” the news release said.
