Daily statistics
According to the Centers of Disease Control, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/cases-in-us.html, the national confirmed COVID-19 cases increased from 605,390 April 15, to 632,548 April 16. There have been 31,071 deaths, up 6,489 from yesterday.
In New Mexico, confirmed cases rose from 1,484 April 15 to 1,597 April 16 (with 44 deaths) and 58 cases in Doña Ana County, with 4 new cases reported since yesterday.
In Texas, cases increased from 15,492 April 15 to 16,455 April 16, with 393 deaths. El Paso County has now confirmed 393 cases, up 47 from yesterday.
Information from Mexico is more difficult to track, but as of April 16, the state of Chihuahua has confirmed at least 117 cases and 22 deaths. Of those, Ciudad Juarez has had 82 cases, with 20 deaths. Nationwide, Mexico has reported 5,847 cases as of April 16, with 449 deaths and 2,125 recoveries.
Globally, 2,134,465 have tested positive, with 142,148 deaths and 540,656 recoveries.
